Cabo de Gata: desert in Europe

The Natural Park of Cabo de Gata is in the southeast corner of Spain, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. The Cabo de Gata is a wild, isolated landscape (although currently suffering the pressure of tourism) and is the only region in Europe with a truly desert climate.

The Sanabria Lake Natural Park is a natural park in Spain situated around Sanabria Lake, northwest of the country. The lake that gives its name to the park is the largest glacial lake in the Iberian Peninsula, with a maximum depth of over 50 meters. There are a number of lagoons and canyons scattered in the mountains that show the action of the activity of the glaciers of the Quaternary. The park has great landscape value.
